Waste Connections has just notified Anderson County of a scheduling change regarding the replacement of a garbage compactor at the Wolf Valley Convenience Center. Rather than on Friday, the facility will be partially closed today (April 16th), for the replacement. The fourth compactor in line is being replaced with a brand new one and there will be limited access to the far end of the Convenience Center away from the entrance. The recycling compactor and the first two garbage compactors will be open, as well as the Open Top container for bulk items. The last two compactors and the area past them will be blocked-off for the installation, and there may be limited access to the shed for oil drop-off. The install will take from half a day to potentially all day.
