Due to COVID-19, Anderson County’s annual Household Hazardous Waste collection event, originally scheduled for September 12, 2020, has been postponed at least until October. Other HHW events across Tennessee have also been postponed. We’ll update once we receive the rescheduled date from the State’s Department of Environment & Conservation.

The Blockhouse Valley Recycling Center, located at 1480 Blockhouse Valley Road in Clinton, will be closed Friday and Saturday, April 10-11, 2020, in observance of Good Friday and Easter.
The next Norris Lake Cleanup will be on March 14, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Sequoyah Marina. Volunteers will be cleaning up the lakeshore near the marina and on nearby islands. Anderson County’s recycling vendor recently notified the Solid Waste Department that the company will no longer accept glass bottles and jars for recycling. So, effective Sept. 1, 2019, Anderson County’s convenience centers will no longer accept glass containers. To learn more, click here.
