Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation has notified Anderson County that all Fall Household Hazardous Waste Collection Events across the State will be cancelled. As of now, TDEC plans to re-assess the situation in Spring 2021 and determine if HHWC events safely can be held at that time.

Effective Monday, October 5, 2020, the Wolf Valley Convenience Center will return to normal operations and again begin to accept recyclable materials.

Volunteers are needed for the next Norris Lake Cleanup in Anderson, Campbell and Union Counties. The Blockhouse Valley Recycling Center will be closed for Independence Day Thursday through Saturday, July 2, 3 and 4, 2020.

Due to COVID-19, Anderson County’s annual Household Hazardous Waste collection event, originally scheduled for September 12, 2020, has been postponed at least until October. Other HHW events across Tennessee have also been postponed. We’ll update once we receive the rescheduled date from the State’s Department of Environment & Conservation.

The Blockhouse Valley Recycling Center, located at 1480 Blockhouse Valley Road in Clinton, will be closed Friday and Saturday, April 10-11, 2020, in observance of Good Friday and Easter.

Anderson County’s convenience centers will be open a half-day (from 7 am until noon) on Christmas Eve, Tuesday, December 24th. The centers will be closed on Christmas Day, Wednesday, December 25th.
