The Clinch River Chapter of Trout Unlimited is back in action this summer with its volunteer cleanup of the Clinch River, after not hosting a cleanup last year because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
This summer’s Clinch River Cleanup will be held on Saturday, July 10th.
Organizers are looking for 50 to 60 volunteers to help with the cleanup effort. Shore cleanup will be conducted around the Miller Island boat ramp and a section of Highway 441 and River Road. A kayaking crew is also needed to clean the banks from Coal Creek to the Peach Orchard Boat Ramp.
The cleanup event will kickoff with breakfast boxes for the volunteers at the Museum of Appalachia at 8 a.m. on July 10th. Cleanup areas will be assigned at the museum and work will begin at approximately 9 a.m.
